How I Earned 70 Swagbucks Today

Christmas is coming and I know many of you are looking for ways to stretch your Christmas budgets — or to find some wiggle room in your budgets to afford gifts for Christmas.

If you are short on money, but have a little extra time (think, when you are waiting in line, when you are watching a show, while you are cooking dinner, etc.), you can earn some extra gift cards to help fund your Christmas budget with Swagbucks.

It’s been awhile since I really talked about Swagbucks much on here, so I thought it was time that I brought it up again!

What Is Swagbucks?

Swagbucks is a site that rewards you with points called SBs for taking different actions — playing games, filling out surveys, watching videos, etc.  These SBs can then be redeemed for a variety of different free items, such as Amazon gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, and much more.

When I first heard about Swagbucks, I was a little leery because it sounded too good to be true. But I went ahead and tried it — and after earning multiple gift cards every month for the past two years, I'm here to tell you that it's not too good to be true. Swagbucks works!

I've earned many gift cards plus some electronics from them since I've been using them for the last few years. In fact, we were able to lavishly bless our families with Christmas gifts this year thanks, in large part, to the gift cards I'd accumulated through Swagbucks.

And I'm not alone. I know dozens of friends who've also had great success with Swagbucks — earning at least a gift card or two every month and sometimes much more than that.

Is Swagbucks Really Worth It?

When my husband was in law school and every penny had to be carefully spent, I would have LOVED to have something like Swagbucks. I was desperate for any way to make $0.50 — even if it took me 10 to 20 minutes (or longer!) to do so. At that time in my life, it was good if I were making $2-3 per hour. Swagbucks would have been a DREAM come true to have as an option!

I never forget those days and I know many people here are in that kind of spot in their life, so I want to provide them with solutions that might work for those who don't have a lot of immediate options or for whom an extra $15 or $25 per month could make such a difference!

For people who aren't in that type of season of life and don't have a spot in their day when you can multi-task and earn SBs while doing something you’d already be doing (working on the computer, cooking, cleaning, etc.), there are probably better ways to be spending your time. However, I bet everyone has a few spots in your day when you could easily earn at least a few SBs. And it's fun to watch them add up!

Do You Have To Refer People To Make It Worth Your Time?

Swagbucks has a great referral program: you earn 10% of the points anyone you refer earns — for the lifetime that they earn them! Obviously, this is a fantastic way to increase your earnings — and one way that has helped me earn a LOT more Swagbucks over the years.

If you try Swagbucks and it works well for you, be sure to share your referral link with your friends or write a post about it on your blog. Don't keep a good thing to yourself. (They are also offering a special right now where you’ll get a 300 SB bonus when your friend earns their first 300 SBs!)

That said, you can still earn a decent amount with Swagbucks even if you have no referrals at all. I outline how you can earn 15 Swagbucks each day in less than 5 minutes per day here.

How Much Can You Earn?

You can easily earn $5 per month in Amazon gift cards with almost no effort. However, if you want to earn more in a shorter time period, I highly recommend checking out Swagbucks TV — especially if you spend a lot of time working on the internet every day. You can increase your earnings significantly by watching Swagbucks TV each day while you're working online — or through their smartphone apps.

In addition, if you have friends you know who would love to try out Swagbucks, by referring them in the next few weeks and helping them be successful, you're likely going to significantly increase your Swagbucks earnings, too. And this will result in more gift cards for you to use toward Christmas gifts!

How I Earned 70 SBs Today

I logged onto Swagbucks and did the Daily To Do List (that’s a great place to start if you’re new. Just look on the sidebar for it and click through each item on the list to do it.

Then, I looked for other opportunities that were free (not free trials, but absolutely free) to earn. I did a few of the Discover options and answered a few questions on the survey section. But the easiest way that I quickly earned 70 points was to sign up for the free Atkins Kit. That earned me 50 points — and I got them immediately added to my account after I signed up!

I ran out of time, so I didn’t get to hit my second goal of earning 100 points, but hopefully I can hit that tomorrow! I’m also playing the videos in the background on my phone this afternoon while I work, so I may hit the 100 points goal before the day is finished. We’ll see! 🙂
