Intentional finance. Intentional family. Intentional business.

Birthday flowers, a free cinnamon roll, and packing for a girl’s trip!

Welcome to my weekly Slow Day post, inspired by Monica from The Homespun Heart. My Word for 2018 is Slow and, in the spirit of that word, I'm taking one day each week (Wednesday) off — I'll be unplugged and offline and plan to move at a slower pace, take time to do things that refresh me, and just really focus on being present and savoring the moment.

Each week, I'll be sharing a photographic peek into my Slow Day. Enjoy a little peek into our lives!

I started the day out on Wednesday the way I usually do — by going to the first hour of school with Silas and Kaitlynn and attending their morning assembly.

I love that they still want me to come to school with them and get excited for me to sit with them!

After my time at their school, I headed to church for Discipleship Group and then for a lunch meeting with other leaders from Discipleship Group.

I went out to Panera with a friend after the leader’s meeting and got my free cinnamon roll from Panera for my birthday. I brought it home to share with my kids… which they were super excited about!

My parents sent me these beautiful flowers for my birthday! Aren’t they beautiful??!

When I got home, I listened to some of this audiobook and worked in the kitchen.

The kids came home and they worked on their homework and told me about their day while I did some baking.

I made these yummy Pumpkin Doughnuts.

After I finished baking, I spent some time with the kids, took a nap, and we had dinner. Jesse took the girls to youth group and then I packed for my long-anticipated girls’ beach trip while Jesse and I watched the next episode of This is Us.

And then I spent a little time with the girls when they got home and then we went to bed early because I was leaving early in the morning for a beach trip with two of my closest friends.

It was a good day!
