A Peek Into Our Christmas (SO many fun memories!)

We got to celebrate Christmas multiple times the past two weeks and it’s been so special!

We had our immediate family Christmas on the 22nd. This has become a tradition we look forward to every year! We started the day with breakfast that we all made together and then opening presents. (We loved having the boyfriends and Isabel with us this year as we have the past few years!) (I wrote more about the day here.)

Why do these two look like they’ve suddenly grown up by a few years??

We also celebrated the gift of David! It’s been two years since he officially became a Paine. I wrote more about my thoughts on his adoption and why I have so many big and conflicting feelings on this day.

These three keep our lives ever interesting and fully and hilarious!

After our family Christmas was over mid-day on the 22nd, we spent the rest of the day packing and getting everything in the car to leave for Kansas. We left early evening and drove to O’Fallon, IL and stayed there overnight and then made it to Kansas (where both sides of our family live) on the 23rd.

Micah was SO excited to see Jesse’s parents’ dog, Copper!

We celebrated Christmas with my family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We also spent some time with Jesse’s family and played Codenames for the first time.

We had a few mother/daughter coffee dates, including one at The Meeting House in Sedgwick, KS. I love this place!

It was so special to have all of my sisters together this Christmas and we just LOVED getting to hang out so much!

I tried a Lavender Blackberry Iced London Fog for the first time and now have decided I must learn how to make one! It was delicious!

Speaking of first times, David swang on a swing by himself without us holding onto him for the first time ever! And he did it for quite a long while and loved it! We’re so proud of the progress he continues to make!

My siblings, my parents, and spouses/significant others. (Can you spot Jesse? He’s kind of hiding behind me!)

We played all sorts of creative games, laughed so hard, got caught up on everyone’s lives, and loved seeing all our kids play together!

We waited to celebrate Christmas with Jesse’s family until December 30th so that everyone could be together. It was the first time in ears that all the siblings were together for Christmas and they had the BEST time!!

David loved getting to hang out with so many aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents and laughed so much! I loved getting to see everyone interact with him and enjoy him!

We also did family pictures with Jesse’s family since everyone was together.

The kids were not super excited about doing pics outside since it was cold, but they survived and hopefully there will be some good pics from the bunch!

Behind the scenes: All the cousins (so far — there’s one on the way!) with Grandma and Grandpa

Jesse’s sister coordinated a prank on Jesse’s parents where the kids all chose obscure items that were at his parents’ house and wrapped them up and presented it to them as if they were legit gifts.

It was hilarious and it took a long time for his parents to catch on that something wasn’t adding up and the gifts seemed very familiar! 🙂 We laughed SO hard about it and they loved the prank!

A yearly favorite: the Saran Wrap Ball game, thanks to Jesse’s sister, Lisa!

One of my favorite pics from our trip to Kansas for Christmas: Kathrynne recreated this picture of herself from years ago when she had asked for wood for Christmas! 🙂
