United Grocery Outlet

I ran in here to see if they had any markdowns and found several good deals. I’ve found that the organic/healthy stuff is often a WAY better deal here than any other store I’ve shopped at so that makes me excited!

1 Alexia Sweet Potato Fries – $1

Sam’s Club

I went to Sam’s club again this week, mostly because I wanted to stock up on yeast and honey (I’ve been baking a lot of breads!), but found a few other items that were better than Aldi prices while there.

1 pack Yeast – $5.38 (I honestly cannot BELIEVE this price!! Such a steal compared to any other store!)

2 Half & Half – $2.58 each

2 lbs Shredded Cheddar Cheese – $7.68 (That’s $1.92 for 8 ounces which is cheaper than my Aldi.)

1 huge container Honey – $11.52

1 (2 pack) Peanut Butter – $8.12 (We go through about one small container of Aldi peanut butter per week so I’m hoping this will last us for a while!)

1 huge box (23 count) GoGurt – $6.78 (Somehow this didn’t make it into the picture.)

Total: $44.64

52 Books in 2023: A Faith That Will Not Fail

In 2023, I set a goal to finish one book per week. I’m aiming to listen to 30 minutes of an audiobook per day (while cooking, cleaning, and/or driving) and read 10 minutes of a book. By doing this, I hope to fairly easily be able to finish one book per week.

You can follow along on GoodReads to see what I’m reading, what books I finish, and the star rating I give each of them.

Book #4: A Faith That Will Not Fail

Michele Cushatt is a personal friend and a woman who knows what suffering and heartbreak is all about. She’s walked numerous really difficult seasons of life — including multiple cancer diagnoses, divorce, and more.

In this honest book, she shares 10 practices for when it feels like your world is falling apart. Each practice includes 5 short chapters followed by a practical faith-building exercises to help you walk out what you are reading about in tangible ways.

This would be a very helpful resource to give to someone who is walking through hard, hurt, and/or heartbreak. It’s like little bite-sized doses of hope to hold your hand as you walk through darkness, disappointment, or discouragement.

For a sampling of some of the book’s content, be sure to listen to my podcast episode with Michele from this past week here.

Verdict: 3 stars

Did you finish any books this week? If so, I’d love to hear what you read!
